Cafetiere in the UK, is a device that brews coffee that is simple and whose official right was given to the Italian designer Atillio Calimani in the year 1929. The word is french, its meaning pot or coffee maker. Cafetieres are built to be self-contained and portable. They are used to make hot coffee as well as , at times, cold coffee according to your preference. The cafetieres’ popularity have greatly grown due to the many or rather growing numbers of coffee lovers.

A 6 cup cafetiere is a device that is specialised in brewing coffee for six people. There are various other cafetieres, for instance, the 3 cup cafetieres or 8 cup cafetiere and many others, according to their needs. In our case, we will look at the cafetiere that makes coffee for six. In order to make coffee for two using the device, you need to have course ground coffee, about 40 grams of it. However, you can adjust the amount according to your taste or preference. Then heat some water and let it boil for a while, for about one minute. Afterwards pour out the water into the device, that is the cafetiere and let the mixture get wet for a while. Then after the grounds have become wet, pour in the water slowly.

Goodbye to the Penny Whistle

Many of you may have had some terrific nights out in the Penny Whistle but it is set to close its doors next month. The owners have said they will have one final ‘blow out’ party and then that will be all.

It’s quite emotional news for regulars who have supported the pub over the last several years, and it’s sad to think that the next generation of students will never have the chance to enjoy a night out at this once thriving music venue.

Some customers have expressed their sadness on social media networks, but now we can only hope the next set of owners provide a similar experience. The only bad news is that it could well become another restaurant or shop, though many people will be hoping that it remains a pub.

Northampton Council have announced that they are launching free parking in their multi-storey car parks on weekends on a new program to entice more shoppers. At St John’s, St Michael’s, Grosvenor and Mayorhold car parks, car users will be able to park free for up to two hours on Saturdays and Sundays. However, free parking on Sundays and Bank Holidays will still continue across all car parks in Northampton.

Councillor David Mackintosh of Northampton Borough Council stated “And we hope that this free parking initiative will also encourage new visitors to come to the town, and regular visitors to spend more time in Northampton, enjoying the great shops, cafés, restaurants and tourist attractions located in and around the town’s Cultural Quarter.” he also said, ““Residents and businesses have told us time and again that they wanted to see more free parking and a simpler offer.”

Northampton’s New Bus Station Set for March Opening

The new bus station which replaced the Northampton Fish Market Art Gallery will open on March 1st, and it will certainly be a talking point again in the town over the next couple of months. It’s significantly smaller than Greyfriars but the council say that it is designed to facilitate all the bus routes that currently run, while it’s in a flexible location to be able to adapt to various routes in the future.

It’s certainly a more attractive design and Greyfriars was once nominated as one of the ugliest buildings in the UK, so that’s good news for the town of Northampton, but only time will tell whether it has been a good move and a worthy investment.

The site is pretty much in good shape right now, and only minor tweaks are needed to get it in full working order, so if you’re heading to Northampton soon or you want to catch a bus on open day then make sure you visit the North Gate Bus Station on March 1st.

Choosing a Restaurant in Northampton

Eating out is an exciting experience, it provides you with the opportunity to try different types of foods, and to also take the responsibility of cooking out of your hands and therefore enjoy it more. Restaurants usually can be expected to cook high quality, and usually also types of food that are not prepared in your home. When people are choosing a restaurant, they usually look for a nice and relaxing environment.People prefer an atmosphere which is conducive to good company and enjoying yourself with them. A dull, poorly lit and poorly decorated place is not somewhere you can easily enjoy yourself, and places like that aren’t usually places chosen to eat at.

Good hygiene is an important part of any environment where you eat, and when paying for it, it is the least you could expect. The facility needs to have clean floors, furniture, cutlery and washrooms. The comfort offered by restaurants is also important, and if the restaurant fails in that, people will look elsewhere. Comfort goes beyond simply the appearance of a place. Comfort refers to a customers ability to relax in a environment, and is something that restauranteurs should consider when they try to develop a committed clientele.
