The Northamptonshire House Market

The housing market in Northamptonshire has gone crazy recently. It seems as though a lot of people have now decided to move property, either first-time buyers or those with homes to sell. But, within Northamptonshire, the house prices have increased dramatically. Over the course of the past few years, house prices have increased drastically, with 2-bed properties reaching prices of over £200,000.

When looking at the housing market in Northampton, you can see who is currently moving, this is first time buyers, those with the lower budgets. This is clear to see as the houses in a first-time buyer range, around the £200,000 mark are being sold quickly, either to first time buyers or building investors. These can go on the market and be sold within the same day! This is crazy as these houses are going for crazy prices, with some even going above the valuation price.

Some of the larger and more expensive properties are taking a while to sell, this is due to potential buyers simply not being able to afford the cost of these properties. It seems as though house prices have increased, but mortgage rates that banks are offering have not increased as dramatically. This may be due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but this is something only the banks will be able to understand.

Housing markets across the whole of the United Kingdom have gone crazy. You will be extremely lucky to purchase property currently as they are selling so fast. You need to ensure you are in the best position to place an offer on a property the day you view it. Hopefully, in the future, we will see the housing market level out so more properties are put for sale and more people can afford to purchase them. This would be the ideal situation for everyone.

Northamptonshire is known for its vast village life. With there being many villages dotted around the outskirts of Northampton, offering a mixture between town life and country life. If you are someone who wants the best of both worlds, Northamptonshire villages are the place for you.

What Are The Benefits of Village Life?

There are many benefits of choosing to live in a Northamptonshire village. The main one being that you get the best of both worlds. You are not far from the hustle and bustle of the main town life, mostly being a short drive away. Yet you can also enjoy the amazing countryside life, with outstanding field views and countryside walks.

Another benefit you may find with living in the countryside is that the air is fresher. There is less pollution within village life as they are not as built up. So you can enjoy breathing fresh air.

Property styles are also different in villages in Northamptonshire. They have been built differently and you can sometimes find that you are gaining a property with more character than in the main town. The value of properties is generally higher priced, meaning you will need more money to move to a village, but you will also gain more profit from your property sale.

Village life in Northamptonshire is not all about getting the best of both worlds. Most small villages enjoy having their own celebrations, their own village festivals and events. You are not just moving to a new house, but you are joining a new community of people who love where they live.

So, if you have an opportunity to move to a Northamptonshire village, take it. If you like the village life, you will not be disappointed.

Like every area, people in Northampton do want to hire professional tradespeople to complete jobs that they are not confident doing themselves. But, how can we avoid cowboy professionals, those who do not do the job well, in Northampton?

When looking for tradespeople near me, you will likely find a wide selection of people in the trade you are after. Whether this is plumbing, building, electricals or more. But some of these may not always be the best people to hire.

One way to know if you are hiring someone with the correct professional knowledge is to look into their reviews. This helps you to see what other people think about their services. Honest reviews are the best ones to look into.

You should also ask around your local area. Talking to your neighbours or joining local Facebook groups. This helps you to know who people in your area use. A local recommendation is sometimes better than your own research.

What’s Life Like In Northampton Now Restrictions Are Lifted?

Living in Northampton over the past year, like everywhere, has had a huge change. With lockdown restrictions being in place meaning we could no longer see friends and family, as well as go to our favourite shops, pubs and restaurants. But now, we have seen that lockdown restrictions have been lifted! So, how is life in Northampton changing?

In Northampton, one of the main aspects that people were most looking forward to were the pubs reopening. While it is only possible to enjoy a drink or pub lunch in pub gardens you won’t be surprised to know that they are fully booked! People have been taking advantage of this and booking everywhere they can go to socialise with friends and family. While it is lovely seeing people enjoying themselves, it does make you worry if another lockdown could be on the horizon with how many people are going to pubs now.

Alongside this, the shops in Northampton Town Centre and surrounding retail parks have begun to reopen. Again offering people places to go to escape from the four walls of their homes. While this is amazing, it is nice to be getting out there is still the worry. With so many people heading out to shops like Primark, it is best to avoid them for the time being.

Like everywhere, people in Northampton have kind of gone crazy. With everyone choosing to now go out to places they haven’t been for a while. It seems as though people have forgotten about this deadly disease and have gone back to normal. It’s important to remember we still need to stay home to save lives, only head out if it is completely necessary what you need.

Please note, this is only my opinion. It is lovely seeing life going back to normal, but there will always be a worry that this could be moving too quickly and we will be in a vicious circle.

Just after Christmas and all the sales are through the roof, but we want to head somewhere different. We all know about local places around Northampton, like Grovenor centre and Rushden lakes. But where can we head out shopping if we want to travel further afield?

One of the best places to head out to do your sale shopping is The Centre MK. This is situated just outside of Northamptonshire in Milton Keynes. This indoor shopping centre is perfect for visiting in the colder months. With them offering a range of stores suitable for all price ranges, even better with the added sales.

Another place you could visit which is still in Northamptonshire, yet further into the countryside is The Heart of The Shires. This is a lovely small shopping village based just off of the A5. This is an outdoor shopping village, with shops offering bespoke and unique gifts.

Why Choose A Marquee for your Next Event?

Given that many people are not overly keen to spend time in enclosed spaces at the moment a marquee can provide the perfect solution for those who want to celebrate that special occasion under cover.

Marquees are not only great value for money – but they also have a variety of other advantages for those who want to make sure that the event is a reflection of their unique tastes and style.

That is possibly one of the best reasons to hire a marquee. It is a blank canvas. Marquees offer great spaces that can feature decorations of your choice, furniture that is perfect for the event and allow you to create that perfect ambiance – no matter what the theme of the event.

Of course, a marquee also allows guests to enjoy the wonders of the outdoors while being sheltered from the elements. It can make a celebration even more special, especially when it is used during those balmy days of summer. The marquee will allow guests to enjoy the gentle breezes or the smell of fresh lawn and flowers. And the fact that late summer thunderstorms will not provide a challenge is also something that a completely open-air event might present.

However, the advantages of having access to the open-air should not be underestimated. A marquee can be supplied with or without side screens/sidewalls. Sidewalls mean that the marquee will be weatherproof (while Georgian or panoramic windows can also allow in natural light), however, open sides mean that guests are free to break away from the celebrations to enjoy person-to-person chats or simply to take in the surroundings. This can add to the enjoyment of the less formal function.

Marquees are also ideal for corporate functions. They can be as formal (carpeting etc) or informal as the occasion demands. They can be designed in such a way as to promote the brand of the company – or launch new products and services. Placement of signage is also extremely easy in a marquee setting and the modular nature of marquees means that they can be split into different spaces – each with its own function.

The fact that marquees offer such exceptional value for money and are so versatile means that they have been a popular choice with event planners and hosts for decades. Given these facts, it is no wonder that marquee offerings continue to evolve – meaning that they will remain a firm favourite with guests, hosts, and professional event management companies.

If you’re looking for cheap marquee hire, but also require a top quality marquee for your event, it is possible to find luxury marquees at exceptionally low prices. You do need to think very carefully about facilities, space, lighting and access though, so start planning your event as early as possible. You can then begin to shop around when you know more, and fortunately, in the UK there are plenty of marquee hire specialists.

Recently E-scooters have been popping up all around Northampton. These are on trial with our local council to help reduce our counties carbon emissions. You can locate these scooters on your phone using the Voi app. The E-scooters currently cost £1 to unlock and a further 20 pence per minute of riding. However, if you park your scooter in a designated charging point you will receive a £1 refund. Depending on how much you ride these scooters you can receive a discount of up to 40%. Voi E-scooters can also reach speeds of up to 30mph depending which zone you are riding in. They are limited to keep you and others safe in certain areas. These are an excellent choice over your own cars or public transport. Allowing you to get from point A to point B faster than in your own car. As well as the discount, making it possible for these to work out cheaper.
