One of the most important professions that exist is teaching. Without teachers, there wouldn’t be any professionals such as doctors, lawyers, nurses, CEOs, IT staff, accountants, marketing specialists and so much more. However, it can be challenging to find a good teaching job, especially locally. With that said, we will now look at a few tips and guidelines that should help you to find a great teaching job in no time.

Firstly, if there is a specific school, university or another type of learning institution that you want to teach at, then you should consider applying directly to them. If you know any of the staff at these schools, you should chat with them to find out about any vacancies available that you may be able to fill. If you want to work at a particular university, then you can check out that university’s job portal on their public website. In most cases, schools typically have openings for teachers from January to June. By simply sending in your resume, even to schools that aren’t publicly advertising teaching vacancies, you can potentially get a call back since they would have your resume on file.

Next, another great space to check is on online local job boards and local online newspapers. There are many schools that choose to advertise via these mediums and you can easily find a suitable job that you’d be perfect for. Of course, pay close attention to any instructions given in these posts and make sure to follow them when applying.

Another option is to go to a teaching employment service or even a general job employment service which looks for suitable jobs on your behalf. There are many schools which use these services to find qualified and suitable teachers in a short space of time. So, it is best that you sign up to as many of these employment services as you can.

Local authorities also typically have a mailing list where they send weekly or monthly emails indicating open vacancies which include teaching vacancies. So, it is definitely in your best interest to sign up to these mailing lists so that you can be notified of any teaching vacancies as they become available. For example, let’s say you’re looking for teaching jobs Bedfordshire, perhaps email the council to see where this list is located, and see if they can provide relevant contacts.

You can even create a profile on LinkedIn which includes all of your detailed teaching experience, qualifications and other details that make you highly employable. You can then start growing your friend network by connecting with other teaching professionals, principals, deans etc. By doing this, more people in the teaching field will become aware of you and your qualifications which may help you to get interviews which would lead to a teaching job. You should also try to network with teaching professionals in real life at various conventions, school or university events etc.

In closing, these are a couple of ways that you can easily find a teaching job in your local area. Once you continuously keep on looking and applying for jobs, then you will eventually be successful. So, don’t give up as teaching is one of the most noble professions that exists.
